Terms of Service

Last updated: June 30, 2026

These terms govern your use of commissure — the app, the website at commissure.ai, and the metered cloud features. By using commissure you agree to them. commissure is operated by Nik Anderson ("we", "us"), pending its move to a formal business entity.

What commissure is

commissure is a local-first personal context engine: it builds a private corpus of your own data on your own device and lets you (and AI agents you authorize) search and reason over it. Some features optionally route a request through our cloud to a model provider — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that sends.

Your account

You sign in with your email and a passkey, and you're responsible for keeping access to your account secure. Don't share credentials.

Acceptable use

Use commissure only with data you have the right to use. Don't use it to break the law, infringe others' rights, attack or overload the service, or resell access without our agreement.

Payments & credits

Paid plans and pay-as-you-go credits are billed through Stripe; we don't see or store your card details. Credits are consumed as you use metered AI and are non-refundable once spent. You can cancel a subscription anytime; access continues through the paid period. Prices may change with notice.

AI output

commissure uses AI models that can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Output is for your information only — it is not professional, legal, financial, or medical advice, and you're responsible for how you act on it.

Your data is yours

Your corpus stays on your device. We don't claim ownership of your content, and you can stop using commissure and remove your data at any time.

No warranty; limitation of liability

commissure is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the prior three months.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms; material changes are posted here with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States. Questions: nik@commissure.ai.

An honest, plain-language v1 written by the team, not yet reviewed by counsel — it will be updated as commissure formalizes its business entity.
